Dino has a variety of motions to appropriately match its emotions, ranging from gentle movement to vigorous movement

Dino also has motions linked with following events

Typing - E-mail - Interlude

Sound

The sound is generated from the servo that moves the internal arm, hence it is linked directly with the motion

It provides supplementary feedback that can be sensed without looking at the device

Data Mapping

Dino listens in on the conversation on MSN Instant Messenger and reacts according to the emoticons/words exchanged between the user and others

Selection of emoticons/words are defined into categories with varying degrees of emotional affect on Dino

Limitations

Dino is only a primitive creature and does not understand words in context

  • I don't love you Dino: Dino is overjoyed
  • I would hate to do that: Dino is unhappy

BUT, do not expect too much from an unborn dinosaur with a brain the size of half a peanut :)
